OPERATION
WITH A GLYCOL/WATER MIX
If there is a risk that the plate heat exchangers may freeze, it will be necessary to use a glycol/water mix.

In the hydraulic circuit, and particularly in the plate heat exchangers, there can be problems with corrosion if the characteristics of the water and its variation are not provided for. We recommend filtering and processing the water used to fill the hydraulic circuits if necessary. The hydraulic circuit in these units is composed of a copper pipe. The plates of the exchanger are made from AISI-316 stainless steel, and copper is used for the welding on the plates. The table opposite shows the reaction to corrosion between copper and AISI-316 stainless steel with water of different compositions. IMPORTANT: In open-circuit installations, if it is not possible to maintain water conditions that comply with the values indicated in the table, an exchanger that makes the circuit independent of the water processing unit circuit must be installed, using materials compatible with these characteristics, either stainless steel or titanium.
